About Us Welcome Letter

Welcome to the C4 Website

WELCOME! If you are reading this, then you are a friend of the Cross Creek Cycling Club! We love to ride our bikes! The mission of the Cross Creek Cycling Club is to encourage all people to participate in bicycling without regard to age or expertise. We promote all aspects of bicycling with special emphasis on bicycle safety and bicyclists' rights and responsibilities and general health and fitness. We also seek to enhance communications among cyclists to provide opportunities for bicycling and socializing with others. Our goal is to provide the opportunity for people of all riding abilities to join and ride with an organization that takes great pleasure in the sport of cycling, the continued development of riders young and old and the support of their personal goals through cycling. We are always happy to invite all riders of different abilities and experience levels. If you are just getting started in the sport or wish to learn more then there is no better way than to come out and join us for a ride or meeting.

Only one club in the nation receives these awards per year and is a testament to the positive efforts of our members.

On a personal note, since the Cross Creek Cycling Club was established in Oct., 2003, I have loved being a part of this great group of people. EVERY person, that I have had the privilege and honor to ride with, has left me as a better cyclist, but more importantly, left me as a better person, husband, father and citizen. IT IS ABOUT THE BIKE! Without “THE BIKE”, very few of us would have the interaction that we do. People don’t go through the same “stuff” that we do by playing golf, or Bunko, or going to their kid’s soccer games and talking with other parents. It is through our physical exertion, TOGETHER, facing and conquering bike challenges, TOGETHER, and living to ride another day TOGETHER that makes this club what it is. For most of us, our lives revolve in 3 circles; family (church included), work, and cycling. When I have the privilege to enter another rider’s life, through the intersecting (think Venn diagram) of our “cycling” circles, I am very much appreciative. If I get to move to share part of their “life” circle, I literally feel blessed. I am so very grateful for what this club has done over the past 9 years; TOGETHER we gave given over $100,000 to numerous charities; TOGETHER we have ridden tens of thousands of miles and TOGETHER we will continue to develop friendships and relationships both on and off the bike, but make no mistake, it is all because of “THE BIKE”.

If you have any questions or would like more information than we have provided here, please ask. You can contact me via email at mike.thomas2us.army.mil or by phone during the day at (910) 723-4052.
