Folks,
Great show from the Cat5s this weekend in Greenville. Let's look at what we need to address and fix first.
- Build power necessary to make jumps at decisive movements. The lack of this 'jump' is what put some riders off the back.
- Cadence. Riders will running way to low on cadence. Need to bring it up a notch in order to make the tactical moves necessary
- Working together. This is a neg and a pos. The neg of it is that the Cat 5s could have worked better by determining a lead rider or riders that were the focus on getting up front and protecting in order to help them win.
Now the positives
- Working together. This is the flipside of the negative. There were significant advances in riders working together this week. Many times riders would set each other up in drafts. Now we need to take them to the next level and provide them the ability to also defend and initiate attacks.
- Great field participation. 6 C4 Racing riders in one field. The largest Cat 5 field the club has produced yet. An excellent weekend of racing and participation by all
- Staying the course. Some riders who were new to crits got blown off the back by stayed true and finished the race. Good moves.
All in all, C4 did a great job racing in this early spring series race. More fun to come!
