I have been riding now for a couple years and I have just recently moved to Fayetteville from Portland OR. Im in the military and so I do a lot of riding on base I usually ride 80-110 miles on saturdays and I ride everyday during the week. Anyways I have normally been a solo rider and i'm really wanting to get involved with group rides and also compete. If anyone out there wants to help a fellow rider out and point me in the right direction or you want to get together let me know.

Kevin,

I would highly recommend you come out and ride at the main club ride on Saturday to meet some of the folks. Make sure to find one of the club officers or a group leader so you can be put into the best group for you. Understand that since your gorup riding experience is very limited, you will likely be in a group that may not be at your strength level but you will need to learn how to ride in a group and get a good understanding of the skills and bike handling necessary to make you safe in a group.

Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 5:30 pm, a group meets at Range 37 on Bragg for a 21 mile ride before dinner time. Pace is whatever you want it to be and most times you will have at least a few others with the same pace in mind to ride with.

For some hill time, there is the Sunday Linden Loop ride of 42 miles. If you want some flats, the the Sunday Rockfish ride has marked routes of 34 and 62 miles. Again that one has various abilities on hand so matching up with someone is usually easy.

Also have a look around this website as it has a lot of information.

I hope this helps,
