Out like a Lion Road Race
=========================
Online registration is open for the most exciting event of the early racing season, the Out Like a Lion Race Weekend. The race weekend will feature the Remax Town and Country Road Race on Saturday in Albemarle, NC and on Sunday the Food Lion City Park Criterium in Salisbury, NC. The inaugural event in 2007 saw over 300 racers each day battling for the early season prize money with 5 C4 Riders competing and two placing in the top 20 in the seasons first real NC road race. While the course for the criterium is the same exciting race course around beautiful City Park in Downtown Salisbury, the road race course for Saturday is different from last year and is a a rolling 6.5 mile circuit with little traffic just north of Albemarle.
C4 Racing is looking to create the following squads for this years race:
- Juniors (20 Miles)
- Cat 5 (20 miles)
- Masters 35+ (40 miles)
- Womne's (33 Miles)
- Cat 3 - (53 Miles)
Currenty slotted to race are:
- Joe O'Callaghan (Cat 3 or Masters 35+)
- Daniel Brew (Juniors)
- Justin Evans (Juniors)
- Tom Brew (Masters 35+)
We are looking to consolidate a minimum of 3 riders per field to work together as a squad for the road race. We will also carpool up that morning to Albemarle for the race and are looking to race Salisbury for all who are interested the following Sunday. If you're interested on racing, please contact me at jocallaghan@nc.rr.com with the category you're willing to race in. C4 will also be providing support at this race in the form of wheels, feed zone, etc.
We also will be looking to do a practice ride of the race so to speak this coming weekend and the following either on Ft. Bragg or So. Pines in order to simulate conditions and teach newer riders on how to bridge gaps, control packs, etc.
